TRACKING DAILY ATTENDANCE WITH GOOGLE SHEETS
This past school year I wanted to track the number of days my students were present and absent. Although our school has a formal system for tracking attendance, pulling reports to get the information you need is long, drawn out and flat out confusing. I decided to create my own system of tracking attendance that was easy for me and met my needs. I created my first version of the attendance tracker sometime in October. Since my school required me to track attendance through their system I was able to backtrack and add in all of the attendance information from September. Throughout the year, I tweaked this to make it into this final version.
I’m declaring that this school year will be the year of organization for all of us! In this blog, I will share a tutorial of my attendance tracker and share 3 reasons why I love this product and think you will too. Check out the video below to get a closer look.
Enjoyed that tutorial? Now that you’ve had a chance to see this product in depth, I’m sharing my top 3 reasons why I love using this product in my classroom.
REASON #1: IT’S EASY TO USE
There’s nothing I dislike more than diving into a product that I am excited to use and find out it’s not as easy to use as I thought it was. When creating this product, I wanted to make it as simple and easy to use as possible. From the checkboxes, to the automated columns, this attendance tracker will make tracking attendance easier than you can imagine. All of the monthly tabs automatically feed back into the main attendance tab and will calculate each students attendance across the month and the entire year and the click of a button.
REASON #2: MADE TO USE YEAR AFTER YEAR
I love being able to purchase a product and use it over and over each year. Gone are the days of purchasing a product each year. Products that can be purchased once and used for a lifetime and/or have lifetime updates are at the top of my list. My Google Sheets Attendance Tracker can be purchased once and used each school. All you need to do is make a copy of the original, rename the file for the current school year, and repeat for the following year. That way you have everything completely reset and ready to go for the next school year. All you need to do is add the school dates for the current school year and you are all set to go! How easy is that!
REASON #3: AUTOMATIC MONTHLY AND YEARLY TRACKING
This attendance tracker will not only allow you to track attendance across the month, but you can also track your students attendance across the school year. Looking to see which student has perfect attendance for your end of the year awards? I’ve got you covered. Looking to track attendance trends across the year to follow up with families? I’ve got you covered. Simply click the checkbox for each student as they arrive to school and the tracker will automatically calculate the number of days present and the number of days absent. Open the master tracker tab to see totals across the month and the totals for the year.
