HELLO! SHANTEL HERE!
Hello. I’m Shantel! Welcome to The TEACHer Mindset. I am an educator in New Jersey. I began my teaching journey as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher in 2019. Before I became a teacher I spent 5 years working in the sports industry. That’s right, teaching is a second career for me. I have been loving this wild and crazy ride on the educator train and I learning to enjoy every minute.
Throughout my career I’ve had the opportunity to create resources, processes and procedures to streamline my personal work and the work in various departments I’ve supported. Embracing technology has allowed me to optimize my organization and increase my productivity. It’s at the heart of everything I do. In 2020, I decided to make my own little space in my cozy corner of the internet and start my Teachers Pay Teachers journey to share my resources with other teachers looking to do the same.
When I’m not creating, I love spending time with my family and friends, eating good food, sharing a laugh or two, and dancing! I’ve been dancing since 2007 and have competed in amateur ballroom dancing competitions and performed with a salsa dancing group for over 2 years. These days, when I’m not working on all things The TEACHer Mindset, you can catch me binging anything on ESPN, sweating it out on the dance floor, or spending some good old fashion QT with my family and friends (most likely over a meal of course!).
