SIMPLE & EASY END OF THE YEAR CLASS MEMORY BOOK

A fun and easy way to celebrate the end of the school year is to make a class memory book. There are so many amazing templates for creating a memory book online but I love creating a memory book from scratch each year. One simple and easy way to create a memory book would be to have students publish a few of their favorite memories and joining them together into a book or a digital slide show.

WHAT YOU NEED

  1. Memory book template

  2. Pencils

  3. Crayons or colored pencils

Start by having each student draw a picture of a favorite memory from the school year. Allow students to be as creative as possible when illustrating their favorite memory. If you have time to have students illustrate more than one memory, allow them to do that. If students are able to write, have them write a sentence or two describing their favorite memory. If your students are unable to write, you can capture a quote of them describing their favorite memory to add to the memory book.

After students finish illustrating their favorite memories, take all of the illustrations and put them together to make a book. You can get fancy and bind them into a more professional book, or you can staple them together to make a book. In our classroom, we made copies of each illustrated memory and created a book for each student to take home at the end of the school year. If you don’t have the resources to make a copy for each student, you can scan each illustrated memory and create a presentation that can be shared with each student and their family.

If you are looking to create the style of memory book shown in the pictures, you will need to do the following:

  1. Have students illustrate their favorite memories on blank printer paper.

  2. Scan each memory into a computer and edit using Microsoft Word or a similar program.
